The maintenance of your fire safety equipment is of utmost importance: firstly and foremostly to ensure the best possible protection for the people who live and work in your property, and secondly to assure both your insurance providers and HSE that you are taking fire safety seriously. Post-Grenfell, people are rightly looking more closely at the competencies and qualifications of the companies they are employing to look after their fire safety arrangements.

Third-party accreditation is a tangible way in which companies can demonstrate their competence, and we are pleased to be BAFE registered for both fire extinguisher and fire alarm testing and NICEIC approved for electrical installations and testing.

It is increasingly common for Insurers to specifically require third party accreditation for your maintenance providers, but this, of course, is in the small print!

BAFE is the independent register of quality fire safety service providers. It provides schemes and testing regimes whereby fire safety companies both large and small can show their competency to provide specific fire protection services. BAFE approval is an example of ‘third party accreditation’, which is something insurers often recommend. Only BAFE approved companies are entitled to use the BAFE scheme logos on their company website and paperwork. BAFE approval is an ongoing challenge, involving training and assessments, usually annually, to ensure that all service engineers in the company are competent to provide the relevant service.

 

We are BAFE approved for Fire Extinguisher maintenance and Fire Alarm system testing:

 

NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) assesses and certifies contractors in various areas of the construction industry, including electricians. It ensures that electricians are working to current standards, giving the customer peace of mind. As with BAFE, contractors are regularly assessed to ensure they are competent to carry out work in accordance with the relevant regulations and codes of practice.

We are an NICEIC Approved Contractor, which certifies us to install, commission and maintain electrical installations to BS 7671. We are also an NICEIC approved Domestic Installer and certified to carry out PAT testing.
