New Free School in Dorset – the brief
The opening of a brand-new Free School in Dorset was great news for many pupils and parents who had campaigned for a local secondary school over a number of years. The building is equipped with state-of-the-art learning facilities and is protected by an extensive fire alarm system.
Solution
Dorset Fire Protection was instructed to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment prior to occupation, within a tight time-frame. The physical fire protection measures in a building are just one part of the fire safety arrangements which serve to protect the occupants from fire. As part of our package, we gave advice on various aspects of the school’s Fire Safety Management, including fire prevention, ongoing maintenance procedures, and evacuation procedures. Fire risk assessment is an ongoing process, and we are pleased to offer our clients advice and support as required so that they remain firmly in control of the fire safety on site.
